CIRCA 1988 - 1993
The Halifax Citadels were a professional hockey team in the AHL, and were a farm team of the NHL's Quebec Nordiques. The Citadels were the last in a series of AHL teams that called Halifax home - a line that included the Nova Scotia Voyageurs and the Nova Scotia Oilers.
In the five years that the Citadels played in Halifax, they only made the playoffs twice and in both cases they were out in the first round.
After the Citadels left, the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL came to town and have been capturing fans attention ever since.
